DRUM INSTRUCTOR

Eric Sanders is a Drum Instructor for Atlanta Institute of Music and Media. He is responsible for creating drum curriculum content and counseling for performance classes. In addition, Eric teaches jazz, latin, funk, technique, reading, advanced soloing, and popular music history from the drummers’ perspective. Eric is the recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, the Music Activities Scholarship, and is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He has over 30 years of drum education experience and has toured and recorded with countless artists from many genres. He is authoring a snare drum book for college curriculum and composes complex music for drums, marimba, and percussion. He has released two solo albums and has been the drummer for The Yeti Trio for over 20 years. Eric holds a Bachelors Degree in Music from Penn State University and a Certificate in Classical Percussion from Penn State University. As a native New Yorker, Eric now resides in Atlanta with his wife, daughter, and beloved bunny; Butterscotch. He enjoys hiking with his family and is a baseball aficionado.
